Sage 300 provides reports termed Customer Transactions vs AR Aged Trial Balance Report.
Customer Transactions can be used for multiple reasons mentioned below :

AR Aged Trial Balance can be used for multiple purposes :
- To know the outstanding of the customer based on the credit period.
- To get the outstanding of the customer based on As of Criteria.
⇒When to Print AR Aged Trial Balance –
Print the Aged Trial Balance report when you need a listing of the status of your receivables on a given date, such as at the end of a fiscal year or period, or when you want to identify documents or balances you may need to write off, AR trial report provides various information.
⇒When to Print Customer Transactions –
Customers can be printed when only the outstanding overdue needs to be known.
Although after reading the blog till here both the reports might sound similar but there are some differences.
Difference between Customer Transaction and AR Aged Trial Balance Report
- Customer Transaction provides you the AR batch number for the document whereas AR Trial balance provides the data based on the credit period.
- The Aged Trial balance report provides the report in the detail level depending upon the terms credit term used at the transaction level.
- In the Aged Trial Balance report we can sort the documents based on Aging Buckets but exact days overdue cannot be determined. However, in Customer Transactions reports no. of days overdue can be viewed in the ‘Days Over’ column.
- Customer transaction report can be viewed as a report providing details for all AR documents and Aged Trial balance report is referred mainly to view due amounts from customers.
- Customer transaction report can be printed for any date range using ‘From Date’ & ‘To Date’ criteria. AR Aged Trial balance report will always give you output “As On” a specific date.
- AR Aged Trial balance report can be extracted to display Summary. Customer Transactions report always gives output transaction detailwise.
